Tom Chapin video

Each box that you mark on each test that you take,
Remember your teachers, their jobs are at stake.
Your score is their score, but don't get all stressed.
They'd never teach anything not on the test.
from Not On The Test by John Forster & Tom Chapin

I suppose I am the last person in the world to see video/website, but it's wonderful:

Especially meaningful right now when we are up to our ears in testing, testing, testing.

Thanks Barbara Braxton for posting this on LM_Net. Finding our what your countrymen are up to via Cooma, Australia. Amazing still to me.

Sweet. I had heard the song but didn't know that a video was done. Here's to thinking about thinking! :)

Thanks, Peter. You might also enjoy this update of a Tom Paxton song by Pikku Myy if you haven't seen it.

It starts:

"What did you learn in school today, dear little boy of mine?
What did you learn in school today, dear little boy of mine?
I learned that I must pass a test
To sort the learners from the rest
That winners win and losers lose
And TAKS test scores is how they choose
And that's what I learned in school today
That's what I learned in school."

All the best,

Doug

Maybe you're the second to the last person to *not* have seen/heard this song/video, since I hadn't heard of it either. This will be great to pass on to classroom teachers. They need all the boost and sustenance and humor they can muster as this school year winds down. Thanks for passing it on.
