A sign for every librarian's door

What a great sign! Too often we forget that we are in the customer service business. Thanks for the reminder, especially as we struggle to complete inventories and submit annual reports!

Does that apply to administration or do we have another sign for them?

This is awesome--we should post something similar at our reference desk!

Actually, I use the sign to yell at customers (sort of). "I'm sorry to interrupt..." they start to say, and I say, "What? Didn't you read the sign?" I point it out to them and say, "You are not an interruption." After that first time, they never say it again, and they don't hesitate to ask me for what they need. In that way, it saves me time.

Love the sign! Should be on every teachers' and administrators' desk too.
