BFTP: Gandhi's Seven Deadly Sins
Five years ago in March I was at the AASSA in Santiago. Today I am in Campinas, Brazil at the same conference. I thought this small reposting from the earlier conference was appropriate. Original post, March 17th.
A speaker at last evening's opening social event for the AASSA conference here in Santiago read Gandhi's Seven Deadly Sins to us. (Her school prints them on a small card for all graduating 8th graders to carry.) If I had read them before, I'd forgotten. So in case you've forgotten too..
- Wealth without Work
- Pleasure without Conscience
- Science without Humanity
- Knowledge without Character
- Politics without Principle
- Commerce without Morality
- Worship without Sacrifice
Perhaps I should print them on a small card to carry with me as well.
Thanks so much for the wonderful hospitality and engagement with the librarians and teachers at AASSA in Campinas this year. I always gain so much from conferences like these - meeting caring educators and learning from them.

Hi Tori,
I'm guessing you are pretty safe, but I can think of a lot of people, mostly appearing in the media, that ought to worry.
